Is graduate school your goal? If it is - or even if it might be - it's not too early to plan how you're going to get there.

I love the color red, but I gladly gave up wearing it for the sake of Cal pride. I love my major, Sociology, but it took until the first semester of my senior year for me to conclude this. I love the California system of public higher education, which we all are very fortunate to experience. I love peer advising, particularly talking to you. But most of all, I love Oski and the Big C.

Hi! I'm a senior economics major and also a transfer student. I am originally from Southern California (as are many of you), so I understand that the transition and adjustment period can be pretty rough. I'll be more than willing to share my experiences with you as a transfer student, so feel free to come up and talk to me! In addition to peer advising, I also mentor community college students that want to transfer to Cal. As a College of L&S student, I know that figuring out our requirements and policies can be pretty confusing at times, so don't hesitate to go up to the blue cart or come to our office and ask! Enjoy your time at CalŃit goes by quicker than you think!

Hi! I'm a fourth-year double majoring in Cognitive Science and Linguistics with a minor in Education. I was born and raised in San Francisco, so I love the Bay Area and of course, Berkeley! I'm involved in Undergraduate Research and Senior Honors Thesis, acts2fellowship, UGSI for Cognitive Science C1, DeCAL, and Gospel choir. I've also done a law externship through the Career Center, sang for UCCE (UC Choral Ensembles) and taught for Krayola Kids (teaching art). In my free time, I love eating, cooking, playing sports, board games, and hanging out with my friends. If you have questions about anything, I'll be happy to help!

Hi, I am from Diamond Bar, California, and am a Sophomore in L&S. I really enjoy outdoor activities, from rock climbing, snowboarding, to surfing. I play a mean trumpet too. For those of you who ask us at the carts "what do you do?," consider this - 70% of all of the people who come to the cart end up with 3.7 GPA's or higher... Ok, maybe not, but we can really help you guys out. Don't be shy around us, since we're there for you guys.

Hi, I'm currently a 3rd year working on the Mass Communications major and the Chinese language minor. I'm originally from Fountain Valley in Southern California so I definitely miss cruising around town in my beat-up Volvo, but Berkeley definitely has its perks. I'm interested in cultural studies and working abroad so in my free time I enjoy studying different languages. So far I've dabbled in Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian, but I'm definitely not fluent in all of them so don't be that impressed. Dabble in different classes and enjoy your years at Cal!

Hi! I am a 2nd year intending to major in Mass Communications. I was born and raised in the Bay Area in a town called San Carlos, which has the highest per capita of kids playing soccer in the United States (a little fun fact for ya!). Accordingly, I have played soccer ever since I was 5 years old and you can still see me running up and down the field in my IM games at Maxwell and in the RSF. In high school, I started taking dance classes in jazz, ballet, modern, tap, and hip-hop and have not stopped. The great thing about Berkeley is that you can pursue solidly grounded interests and expand your horizons to discover new ones. Cal might seem big and overwhelming, but there are always ways to make it smaller for yourself and if you ever have any questions, us Peers and the L&S Advisors are more than happy to help! Just come into 113 Campbell or look for the blue carts with happy faces on them. :)

Hello! I am one of your Peer Adviser's for the 2007-08 school year. I am really excited to meet you all, so stop by and say hello! Now, a little bit about myself. I am a third year Political Science major. My home is in San Fernando City, in the Los Angeles area. I love the valley, but now I am here in Nor-Cal meeting new people and exploring new things. I am always open to learning something new, whether it's music or something else intellectually interesting. I hope you take advantage of all the advising opportunities we offer. Come to our office hours! See ya soon!

I am a third year Political Science and Geography major from the vast inland desert of Southern California. Without a doubt, my favorite music comes from Musical Theatre (I'm very much an aficionado of it); my favorite show is Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown. Politics fascinates me (the best TV show of all time has got to be The West Wing) and after college I'd like to work on campaigns professionally. The best advice I can think to give anyone would be this: all your decisions are your own so don't pretend you haven't got a choice.

I am a fourth year majoring in Economics and Legal Studies. I transferred to Berkeley from UC Irvine so I know how it feels for all you freshmen and transfer students making the transition now. I'm originally from the Bay Area so it's nice to be back home but I definitely miss sunny Southern California! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Classes can be overwhelming sometimes but just remember to relax, chill out, and have some fun!

Hi everyone! I'm a 4th year student at Cal, double majoring in Economics and Statistics. I'm originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, but my family currently lives in the Bay Area. This is my second year being a peer adviser, and it has been one of the best experiences for me at Berkeley. I'm currently in the process of applying to Graduate School, so I can answer questions about that. I love helping students figure out the complicated but interesting world here at L&S, and I also just love to chat and hear different people's perspectives. I look forward to meeting lots of new people through peer advising this year!
