Study Habits
Hello! We are almost halfway done with the semester. I know you must be looking forward to the holidays especially with Halloween right around the corner. However, this is also the time when classes start getting down to business and midterms feel like they're never going to end. Make sure you prepare well before a midterm or essay so that you can enjoy your Halloween night.
Here are some suggestions...
1. Try starting your essay a week before the due date. You don't need to finish it but start thinking and planning an outline. Then you might want to start writing and go to the SLC to get some feedback on the structure and/or ideas.
2. Form a study group for a midterm coming up. I am sure there is a lot of material to cover and not enough time to reread. Ask a couple of people if they would like to split the material and meet up to review before the midterm. This will help you feel less stressed and others will also benefit.
3. Make sure you get plenty of sleep and take your time to stop and have a good meal. You will feel more energetic. If you plan to study for more than two hours, make sure to take a break by eating an apple or something to keep you energized. Also, it helps to switch subjects every couple of hours so that you don't get exhausted.
I wish you all the best and hope you use some of these suggestions.
