Finals!!!

Finals are quickly approaching so pay attention...they can creep up on you. Unlike high school, finals and final papers in college are worth a lot more and are far more stressful if you do not mentally prepare. Here are some helpful hints and guidelines:

1. Make a schedule for yourself! Obvious right? But make the schedule far in advance and make it look like you will be done with everything super early so that if you fall off your schedule (which will happen) you can revise it and still get everything done.

Are you getting involved outside the classroom?

I should have been studying. There were research papers to be written and long books to be read. But when a friend called me up and asked me if I wanted to go with him that night to see Barack Obama in San Francisco, I couldn't say no. I stood in a crush of people, many of them Berkeley students, no more than twenty feet away from a man who may soon become the president of the United States. Time for Telebears!

Hello!!!
It's Tele-bears time for next semester. Can you believe how fast time has gone by? Take a look at our Planning Your Years website for helpful tips and reminders on how to plan your next semester and the years ahead. If you already have a major in mind, you may want to take a pre-req or a seminar offered by that major to confirm your interest. Also, while planning your schedule keep in mind the workload required for each class. For example, how many problem sets will you be doing or how much reading will you have to do? You want to make sure you will not overload your self. Got questions? Need some guidance? Check in with one of your advisers (see schedule above or come to 113 Campbell) or ask one of the peer advisers tabling in the DC.

Good Luck!

Study Habits

Hello! We are almost halfway done with the semester. I know you must be looking forward to the holidays especially with Halloween right around the corner. However, this is also the time when classes start getting down to business and midterms feel like they're never going to end. Make sure you prepare well before a midterm or essay so that you can enjoy your Halloween night.

Here are some suggestions...

Don't know what to major in? Wander the aisles of the textbook store and look at the reading for the various majors. You'll be amazed at how many interesting classes you'll find in majors you never even heard of, or thought you had no interest in. Oh, decisions, decisions!
